Miami Shores
“The Village Beautiful” as its locals like to refer to it, is a geographically small, but dense community located directly off 95 on the eastern side of Miami. With only 10,000 people living here, it’s safe to say it’s a tight knit community with an air of lightheartedness. The friendly neighborhood feel is a hallmark of the town and helps idealize this land. While still located centrally in the heart of Miami, it offers a more serene home environment for families looking to quiet down at the end of the workday. Due to its ideal location it is still very easy to make your way around Miami to whatever activity you might feel like doing.
If you prefer to stay local (and plenty of families do when possible) you can find plenty of things to do. The Miami Shores Country Club has a nice restaurant, tennis courts and the obvious 18 hole golf course. It is immaculately kept and an area frequented by locals, especially during the cooler months. There’s also the Aquatic Center which has a competition pool and a small outside waterpark called Shipwreck Cove. It’s a great place to take kids on the weekends, even when it’s super-hot. Which is more often than not.
When you get hungry, there are a few spots nearby to taste such as Mama Jennie’s, Cote Gourmet and the Miami Shore country club restaurant. The last is the most upscale of the three and represents the fine dining establishment of Miami Shores. The village is also due west of South Beach, so it is a simple ride over the causeway to near limitless good food, from casual places like the Clevelander to upscale restaurants like Prime 112 or Barton G’s. It’s all within reach here.
On the shopping scene you obviously have South Beach in close proximity as well, but you can also head north to Aventura Mall. There you’ll find one of the most celebrated shopping establishments in all of South Florida. Clean, fanatically well-kept and beautifully designed, it is truly a joy to shop here. Just keep in mind you won’t be the only one lurking around the upscale fashion boutiques; it’s a popular destination.
Miami Shores is a quaint breath of fresh air for those looking to move into Greater Miami. It has a small town feel though it’s centrally located near the center of the city. The residents here have worked hard to maintain its community atmosphere which has led to its good reputation. More and more families are idealizing the area with its range of amenities as well as public, charter and parochial school options. Miami Shore real estate will remain in demand. The slow population growth leaves little room for new housing so get the help of a skilled realtor to mosey your way into this beautiful community.
